Thank you so much for attending Dallas Fort Worth International Airport’s 2016 Aviation & Transportation Career Expo. This year’s event was a huge success and because of your participation, we were able to provide students from Dallas/Fort Worth and the neighboring communities the opportunity to learn about careers, ask questions of industry experts and enjoy a hands-on experience in a variety of aviation and transportation fields.

Registration to attend the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport’s 2016 Aviation & Transportation Career Expo has officially ended. If you have any questions concerning this year’s event, or are interested in participating in the 2017 Career Expo, please contact us or sign-up for our e-newsletter.

  For the past 12 years, DFW International Airport, in conjunction with American Airlines, the Federal Aviation Administration and Tarrant County College, hosts more than 3,500 students at its annual Aviation & Transportation Career Expo – one of the largest educational events of the year in North Texas.

The Career Expo gives students from Dallas/Fort Worth and the neighboring communities an opportunity to learn about careers, ask questions of industry experts and enjoy a hands-on experience in a variety of aviation and transportation fields – from piloting a major airline plane to managing a local or national rail line or driving an emergency response vehicle.

Numerous static aircraft, vehicles displays and information booths representing local, regional and national members of the aviation and transportation community will be available to everyone attending this dynamic educational experience.

The 2016 Career Expo will begin at American Airlines Hangar #5, and students will be transported to-and-from the C.R. Smith Museum via Greyhound bus(es). When arriving at the Expo, we ask that you proceed using the school bus and car parking options shown above.

By confirming your registration, you agree to the following liability and indemnity terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before your visit.

The following is a step-by-step guide on what to do prior to and upon your arrival:

Step One:
Planning Ahead
  • Final count of students and/or chaparones – Please let us know if there are any changes (+/-) to your attendee count, thereby ensuring the proper ratio of volunteers-to-students.
Step Two:
Location, Arrival & Parking
  • The 2016 Career Expo will begin at American Airlines Hangar #5 – Students will be transported to-and-from the C.R. Smith Museum via Greyhound bus(es).
  • Attendee arrival schedule – This year we have broken attendance into two (2) separate itineraries to better connect students and exhibitors. Please make certain your school’s arrival is based on the appropriate grade range:
    • K-5 (9:00am - 11:00am)
    • 6-12 (11:30am - 1:30pm)
  • School bus and car parking – When visiting the 2016 Career Expo, we ask that you proceed using the following parking options.
Step Three:
Meet the Ambassadors
  • School Bus(es) – Upon arrival you will be greeted by a DFW Airport Ambassador, who will check-in your school, hand-out swag bags, and provide additional instructions and directions. Please remain seated on your bus until an Ambassador has greeted your school!
  • Cars & Individual Attendees – After parking in the appropriate lot, please follow the directional signs to an on-site DFW Airport Ambassador or volunteer who will check you in, hand-out swag bags, and provide additional instructions and directions.
Step Four:
Enjoy the Expo!
Now that you’ve done all the pre-planning and preparation, it’s time to enjoy the 2016 Career Expo! Check-out the following tips to help make sure you have a good experience:
  • Wear comfy shoes! – You’ll be doing a lot of walking around both Hangar #5 and the C.R. Smith Museum, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes.
  • Hydrate – Be sure to drink lots of water during the Expo, and get plenty of rest the night before. We want you rested and excited!
  • Eating is good – We know there’s a lot of things you’ll want to see and do, but don’t forget to take the time to eat. Feel free to bring your own lunch and/or snack, as food will not be available on-site.
  • Don’t forget, we’re here to help – Ask one of the DFW Airport Ambassadors or volunteer if you have any questions.
