Get ready for the Expo

The following is a step-by-step guide on what to do prior to and upon your arrival:

Step One:
Planning Ahead
  • Final count of students and/or chaperones – Please let us know if there are any changes (+/-) to your attendee count, including chaperones. Each school is responsible for providing enough chaperones per students attending.
  • Bus driver(s) information – Please have each bus driver’s contact information upon arrival so that you can call/contact them when your school is ready to leave. It will be the teacher’s responsibility to contact the bus driver for departure
  • Liability and Indemnity – By confirming your registration, you agree to the following liability and indemnity terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before your visit.
Step Two:
Location, Arrival & Parking
  • The 2018 Career Expo will take place at American Airlines Hangar #5.
  • Arrival schedule – We are breaking student attendance into three (3) arrival times, allowing you a 2-hour window to meet industry experts one-on-one, enjoy a wide variety of educational experiences, and see top-quality aircrafts and vehicles. Please make certain your school’s arrival is indicated in your on-line registration.
    • Arrival Time 1 –  9:30AM - 11:30AM
    • Arrival Time 2 – 10:30AM - 12:30PM
    • Arrival Time 3 – 11:30AM - 1:30PM
  • School bus and car parking – When visiting the 2018 Career Expo, we ask that you proceed using the following parking options; Step Three.
Step Three:
Meet the Ambassadors

  • School Bus(es) – Upon arrival you will be greeted by a DFW Airport Ambassador, who will check-in your school and provide additional instructions and directions.
    Please remain seated on your bus until an Ambassador has greeted your school!
  • Cars & Individual Attendees – After parking in the appropriate lot, please follow the directional signs to an on-site DFW Airport Ambassador or volunteer who will check you in and provide additional instructions and directions.
Step Four:
Safety and Security
  • The Career Expo is held at an active maintenance base for American Airlines and CAUTION SHOULD BE USED AT ALL TIMES during the event. Please be respectful of our facility (including restricted access areas), our equipment and above all, our staff.
  • Teachers and chaperones should always be aware of their student’s location, not allowing them to wander unsupervised, and students should not engage in horseplay of any kind during the event.
  • STUDENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE HANGAR INTERIOR and may tour only the outside event area/ramp. To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all event participants, please respect all property restrictions and do not cross any barricades, caution tape or fences.
  • Students should ALWAYS ASK PERMISSION from the owner/pilot of the static aircraft/vehicle before touching or climbing on the display(s).
  • Please respect all directions, instructions or requests made by event Volunteers, Security Personnel, American Airlines Employees and Parking Staff.
  • Safety and Security are essential. If you see any suspicious behavior, please report it to an event Volunteer or Dallas Fort Worth Department of Public Safety Police Officer.
Step Five:
Enjoy the Expo!
Now that you’ve done all the pre-planning and preparation, it’s time to enjoy the Career Expo! Check-out the following tips to help make sure you have a good experience:
  • Restrooms – Bathroom (portable) facilities will be available on the ramp. Students are not allowed inside the hangar interior.
  • Wear comfy shoes! – You’ll be doing a lot of walking around the Hangar #5 ramp, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes.
  • Hydrate – Be sure to drink lots of water during the Expo, and get plenty of rest the night before. We want you rested and excited!
  • Eating is good – We know there’s a lot of things you’ll want to see and do, but don’t forget to take the time to eat. Feel free to bring your own lunch and/or snack, as food will not be available on-site. Seating will be available in the big tent for students to enjoy lunch.
  • Don’t forget, we’re here to help – Ask one of the DFW Airport Ambassadors or volunteers if you have any questions.
