 The Civil Air Patrol (CAP) is a Congressionally chartered, federally supported, non-profit corporation that serves as the official civilian auxiliary of the United States Air Force (USAF).  The NCATT (National Center for Aerospace & Transportation Technologies) and its partners’ mission is to provide a forum through which subject matter experts from industry, government, and education develop technical knowledge and skill standards.  Established in 1929 by 99 women pilots to provide mutual support and advancement of aviation, the Fort Worth Chapter of the 99s—International Organization of Women Pilots has continued and expanded that mission. Today, the organization promotes world fellowship through flight, provides networking and scholarship opportunities for women and aviation education in the community and preserves the unique history of women in aviation.  The North American Aerotech Academy’s mission is to produce licensed high school graduates who are academically prepared to enter the field of aviation or to continue their academic studies in the field of aviation.  The Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals (OBAP) is a non-profit organization section 501(c)(3) founded in 1976 to enhance, advance, and promote education opportunities in aviation. OBAP has focused its greatest emphasis on preparing young African-American and Minority people to realize a successful future and highlight the exciting potential available in aviation. OBAP’s unique approach is to build on the progress made in the military and general aviation arenas by expanding the cause within the airline industry.
 PAMA, Professional Aviation Maintenance Association, is the premier association for the Aviation Maintenance Technician. PAMA promotes professionalism and recognition for the Aviation Maintenance Technician. PAMA does this by fostering continuous improvement in aviation safety and community through communication, education, representation, and support.
 Soaring Dreams mission is to educate people, inspire youth and promote aviation by emphasizing the importance of history, math, and science; thus creating an interest for aeronautical studies and professions. Created to educate people, inspire youth and promote aviation through history, math, and science, the historical phase of Soaring Dreams illustrates the history of African Americans in aviation from 1916 through present. Those who have chosen careers in aviation need only to look back to see whose shoulders they stood on. These men and women, some who gave their lives, should inspire anyone to strive to greater heights of achievement and success.

 The Texas Air National Guard report to the governor of Texas, when they are not mobilized or under federal control. Each of the 54 National Guard organizations is supervised by the adjutant general of the state or territory. Under state law, the Air National Guard provides protection of life, property and preserves peace, order and public safety. The Air National Guard provides almost half of the Air Force’s tactical airlift support, combat communications functions, aeromedical evacuations and aerial refueling, and has total responsibility for air defense of the entire United States.
 The Texas National Guard Counter Drug Program is a military branch whose personnel are very familiar with the mission of supporting civil authorities in the Texas state’s drug interdiction and eradication efforts. While the National Guard has always stood by ready to support the nation, Counterdrug Soldiers and Airmen possess many of the unique skill sets necessary to perform recovery missions. Utilizing those capabilities and equipment here in Texas is something they are all happy to do.
 Texas State Technical College (TSTC) was established in 1965 to meet the state’s evolving workforce needs. Today, the Texas State Technical College System includes four colleges: TSTC Harlingen, TSTC Marshall, TSTC Waco, and TSTC West Texas, with more than 15,000 students attending TSTC in credit programs alone. With a statewide role and mission, TSTC is efficiently and effectively helping Texas meet the high-tech challenges of today’s global economy, in partnership with business and industry, government agencies, and other educational institutions.
 Texas State Technical College Welding Programs emphasize the development of real, hands–on welding, layout and fitting skills. With extensive exposure to welding practices and principles, students can better understand not only how welding processes work, but also why certain welding processes are used. Students also gain extensive skills and knowledge through simulated industrial welder qualification tests with the following processes: SMAW, GMAW, FCAW (gas and self–shielded), GTAW and SAW. In addition to the Certificate of Completion, Welding Technology offers advanced exit points for specialized skill development.
 The Texas Workers Union’s (Local 565) Air Transport Union was organized in 1945 to support airline employees, and the Pilots Association in 1931, but airline labor did not become officially recognized until 1936 with the Railway Labor Act. TWU’s first victory for airline workers was the 40-hour work week and in the mid-1940s, TWU organized new locals in Miami, Florida; San Francisco, California; and New York to represent ground service employees. In 1946 TWU organized employees at American Airlines. In the 50 years since, TWUfs ATD has scored many victories and today TWU represents 50,000 workers in the airline industry in almost all class and crafts.
