 The Civil Air Patrol (CAP) is a Congressionally chartered, federally supported, non-profit corporation that serves as the official civilian auxiliary of the United States Air Force (USAF). CAP is a volunteer organization with an aviation-minded membership that includes people from all backgrounds, lifestyles, and occupations. It performs three congressionally assigned key missions: emergency services, which includes search and rescue (by air and ground) and disaster relief operations; aerospace education for youth and the general public; and cadet programs for teenage youth.

Annually, the NBCFAE distributes over $100,000 in scholarships and grants, and exposes over 1,000 minority youth to careers in aviation through the coalition's Aviation Career Education Academy.

 The Texas Air National Guard report to the governor of Texas, when they are not mobilized or under federal control. Each of the 54 National Guard organizations is supervised by the adjutant general of the state or territory. Under state law, the Air National Guard provides protection of life, property and preserves peace, order and public safety. The Air National Guard provides almost half of the Air Force’s tactical airlift support, combat communications functions, aeromedical evacuations and aerial refueling, and has total responsibility for air defense of the entire United States.
 Texas State Technical College Welding Programs emphasize the development of real, hands–on welding, layout and fitting skills. With extensive exposure to welding practices and principles, students can better understand not only how welding processes work, but also why certain welding processes are used. Students also gain extensive skills and knowledge through simulated industrial welder qualification tests with the following processes: SMAW, GMAW, FCAW (gas and self–shielded), GTAW and SAW. In addition to the Certificate of Completion, Welding Technology offers advanced exit points for specialized skill development.
 The T was created in 1983 as the Fort Worth Transportation Authority, a regional transportation authority of the State of Texas and is not an agency or department of any of its member cities. It provides quality public transportation to meet the mobility needs of Tarrant County and the North Central Texas region. The T annually provides nearly 9 million passenger trips on buses, vanpools and the Trinity Railway Express, which it jointly owns with Dallas Area Rapid Transit. The T is developing a commuter rail from SW Fort Worth to DFW Airport planned to start up in 2014. The T is governed by a nine-member board of directors with eight appointed by the Fort Worth City Council and one by Tarrant County Commissioners Court.
 The United States Air Force Academy is both a military organization and a university. Much of the Academy is set up like most other Air Force bases, particularly the 10th Air Base Wing, but the superintendent, commandant, dean of faculty and cadet wing are set up in a manner resembling a civilian university. The U.S. Air Force Academy offers a four-year program of instruction and experience designed to provide cadets the knowledge and character essential for leadership, and the motivation to serve as Air Force career officers. Each cadet graduates with a bachelor of science degree and a commission as a second lieutenant in the Air Force.
